You may review the following video or read the Step by Step Instructions to successfully register in Symphony.
Beginning April 4, 2022, your DUNS will be replaced by your SAM Unique Entity Identifier (UEI).
All users must register themselves for Symphony, set up their preferred method of Multi-factor Authentication, and verify that their registered email address is correct. You should register with the UEI for the company that will be the prime for the proposal and you cannot add others to Symphony due to security requirements.
If you register for multiple companies in one Symphony portal, you need a unique email for each DUNS/UEI, and you should not use a group email address.
Step 2: Enter Your Email Address
Symphony sends an email to validate that your email address is correct.
You will need the verification code from this email to continue.
Step 3: Enter Validation Code
Enter in the validation code provided before pressing CONTINUE.
If you did not receive an email, please check your spam folder. You may press cancel at this time if you need to enter your email again.
Step 4: Acknowledge Checklist
For your convenience, we have provided a checklist with the requirements for registration. Please be sure to have these requirements fulfilled before registering.
Certify that you understand how to correctly register by checking the boxes beside the requirements and selecting BEGIN.
Step 5: Lookup Organization
Enter the DUNS/UEI for the Prime Contractor who will receive the contract award or who did receive the contract award. The DUNS/UEI can also be for a Joint Venture Entity. Do not enter the DUNS/UEI of a CTA Contractor or a JV Member. Only the DUNS/UEI is required to validate an organization based on SAM data.
Step 6: Confirm Organization
If the information displayed is correct and you are authorized to access Symphony on behalf of this company, confirm this information by choosing “Yes” to proceed.
Step 7: Create Account and Password
Your username is your email address and your first and last name will help identify your account. Password requirements must meet standard best practices. You may press cancel at this time if you need to cancel your registration.
Step 8: Configure Multi-Factor Authentication
You must validate the completion of this step by entering the code your MFA tool provides.
For Multi-Factor Authentication, you can use any time-based Authenticator Application. We strongly encourage you to use Google Authenticator to retrieve the six-digit codes each time you sign into Symphony because it is free, easy to use, and supports multiple accounts. Review How to Use your Phone for MFA or How to Set up MFA in your Browser for more information.
The SMS delivery of the six-digit code can be unreliable. Sometimes disabling wi-fi helps speed up the delivery of the text code if it takes more than 2-3 minutes to arrive. If you fail to validate and complete this step, your MFA will not work, and you will have to contact us for a reset.
Step 9: Confirmation
- The SAM POC(s) are listed on the confirmation page when you successfully register but do not have immediate access to sign in to Symphony. In this scenario, your account is inactive, and you cannot sign in until your Symphony administrator (SAM POC) approves your registration. Review How to Sign In to Symphony or How to Manage Users for more information.
- Symphony does not send notifications to your SAM POC(s) if they have not registered in the same Symphony portal. Contact your POC(s) on your own. Request that the POC(s) sign in or register themselves for the same Symphony portal before activating your registration.
