Gaining Administrator Access

Symphony includes the following contract vehicle links

Before registering as a Symphony Administrator for a company, follow these steps to verify the Point of Contact (POC) role at the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website.


1. SAM.gov Points of Contact are Symphony Administrators.

1. Go to SAM.gov and sign in.

2. Use the Search option and filter the results by Entity Information (See Figure 1).

3. Enter the Company name or UEI. (Unique Entity Identifier)

4. Select the company name.

5. Go to the Points of Contact tab

2. Download a copy of the SAM record 

After registering in Symphony, POCs must Submit a Ticket and provide the SAM.gov UEI and a copy of the POC information so that we can verify access.

  • The documentation must show the Point of Contact's name and email address.
  • If the user's name is not listed, Register as a Business User.


3. Register Now

SAM.gov Points of Contact are the only authorized users for an organization verified during registration on the right website for the contract vehicle (See Figure 2).

  • Registering with a group email address is not allowedOnly use an individual email account.
  • Symphony has no affiliation with SAM.gov and only uses it to verify the entity information. 
  • An email address can only be linked to one company on a Symphony website. 
  • Registration and administrative tasks happen in Symphony only.
  • All users must set up their preferred Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) method. 
  • All users must register. Adding users is prohibited.
  • Direct links are available at the top of the page.

Symphony sends an email to validate that an email address is correct. 

  • Enter the validation code from this email to continue registering. 
  • Check spam or trash folders if the email is not received in a few minutes of registering. 
  • Click Cancel to restart registration.

 

4. Acknowledge the Checklist

Have the requirements ready before registering (See Figure 3).

5. Register the Organization

Enter the SAM.gov UEI for the Prime Entity, who will receive the contract award or is the contract holder. 

  • Do not enter the UEI of a CTA (Contractor Team Arrangement) Contractor, Subcontractor, or JV (Joint Venture) Member.
  • If there is more than one cage code assigned to the UEI, include the CAGE (Commercial and Government Entity) code with the UEI.
  • A company cannot share its data with another company under separate registrations.


Pay close attention to the cage code retrieved from SAM for a correct registration. 


6. Configure the Account 

Usernames are email addresses but the first and last name identify the account owner. 

  1. For Multi-Factor Authentication, use any time-based Authenticator Application (See Symphony Authentication). 
  2. Complete registration by entering the code from the MFA tool. 
  • Use an Authenticator Application or choose text messages (See Figure 4)
  • Email is not an option.
  • Scanning the QR code with a phone camera will not work for future logins.

A confirmation page will display after a successful registration. 


7. Request Activation

Once registration is complete, contact us with the SAM.gov UEI and a copy of the POC details from SAM.gov so that we can verify access and activate the account. There is no auto-activation.
